Jarell Quansah reacts to Liverpool message amid exit whispers

Jarell Quansah reacted to a message from his club as the Liverpool centre-back looks like he could be on the move this summer.

The 22-year-old defender endured a difficult 2024/25 season, starting just four Premier League games under Arne Slot.

Quansah had initially broken into Liverpool’s team during Jurgen Klopp’s final season in charge, ousting Real Madrid-target Ibrahima Konate from the starting XI.

But the Frenchman’s return to fitness and form, coupled with Virgil van Dijk’s remarkable endurance over the course of the season left little place for the young defender in the Reds’ side.

However, having joined up with England‘s Under-21 side for the U21 European Championships, Quansah will need to find a way to return to form as his country bids to retain its crown.

Liverpool share message with Jarell Quansah

Following England U21’s 0-0 draw with Slovenia U21, Liverpool shared an upbeat message with Quansah on Instagram, captioned: “A clean sheet for Jarell Quansah in U21 EURO action last night”.

The defender liked the post, thankful for the support from his club, but will no doubt have been disappointed with the fact that his team could not claim victory in their second game of the tournament.

With a match against Germany U21 up next, the Three Lions will need to claim victory to finish top of their group, and are at risk of an early exit if they fail to beat their old foes.

Liverpool willing to let Jarell Quansah leave this summer

Football Insider Verdict

Mick Brown told Football Insider exclusively that Liverpool would be willing to entertain loan offers for Quansah this summer.

There is interest from several Premier League clubs in the 22-year-old, and a loan would allow the defender the opportunity to secure more regular first-team minutes.

Quansah is undoubtedly a talented player, but his form suffered last season in the brief stints that he did play.

Slot’s lack of faith in the centre-back was telling, given he chose to use Curtis Jones at right-back at points last season, over the natural defender.

A temporary spell at another club may be vital for Quansah to get his Anfield career back on track.

Martin Allen told Liverpool News exclusively that Darwin Nunez’s exit from Anfield was growing ever closer.
