Jarrad Branthwaite ‘won’t quit Everton if Burnley signing agreed’
Jarrad Branthwaite has attracted interest from elite European sides since bursting into the first-team setup at Everton under Sean Dyche last season.
The 22-year-old’s form has continued into this season and under David Moyes, where he has made 21 appearances across all competitions and kept eight clean sheets.
He has been a key part of Moyes’ side since the manager took over in early January
This led to high praise from Paul Robinson, who told Football Insider that keeping Branthwaite at Everton will help set Moyes up for success.
Now, the former England goalkeeper has told Football Insider that the defender will not want to leave Everton even if they land a deal for his potential replacement.
This comes amid links with a move to sign Burnley centre-back Maxime Esteve, who has been a standout for the Championship side so far this season.
The 22-year-old French defender could leave Turf Moor if his side do not earn promotion this season.

Jarrad Branthwaite to spend ‘one more year’ at Everton
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider in December that the likes of Man City are keeping an eye on Branthwaite’s progress at Everton.
The defender has previously been linked with moves to Real Madrid and Man United among other European giants and made his England debut in 2024.
However, there is now a belief that he could remain with the Toffees despite that interest.
Instead, depending on their financial situation, Everton have been backed to keep hold of the defender for one more year and sign the likes of Esteve to play alongside him.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Robinson questioned why he would want to leave his role under Moyes at Everton.
“I don’t see why Branthwaite would go,” he told Football Insider.
“Under Sean Dyche the remit was about survival, but I think with David Moyes coming in, things are changing very, very quickly.
“It’s incredible what he’s done since coming in to Everton, the points he’s picked up and the results they’ve got.
“For Jarrad Branthwaite, would staying another year at Everton harm his development? I’m not sure that it would at his age.
“Maxime Esteve is a top defender and he’s proved himself there.
“He signed last year from Montpellier, and has now established himself as a good, solid defender.
“Everton would be buying potential.
“I think if their PSR issues are balanced and they can go into the market to buy players alongside Jarrad Branthwaite, they will.
“If you want to develop and grow as a football club, you keep those types of players.
“But if you need to balance the books and make sure you’re staying in a good financial position, you might have to let him go because of the money it would bring in.
“For me, I think there’s much more benefit in Branthwaite staying for another year for his own development, working under David Moyes.
“Another year is definitely not out of the question and his value is only going to go up.”

David Moyes leading Goodison Park revolution
Moyes has been an overwhelming success since his appointment at the beginning of January, and he is now spearheading a revelation at Goodison Park.
Having been backed to keep the likes of Branthwaite and other star players at the club, Everton are also looking to build stability off the pitch and behind the scenes.
Football Insider exclusively revealed on 20 February that the Toffees are in advanced talks to appoint Brighton’s David Weir as their new sporting director.
Moyes has been the driving force that move, and is also set to establish a new recruitment plan as Everton make summer transfer plans at Goodison.
