Jarrod Bowen drops West Ham return hint after Graham Potter arrival

Jarrod Bowen may have given new West Ham manager Graham Potter a boost with his latest social media update.

The winger has not played for the Hammers since late last month, when he fractured his foot in the defeat to Liverpool.

Since then Potter has replaced Julen Lopetegui as manager at the London Stadium, but saw his new side lose his first game in charge 2-1 against Aston Villa in the FA Cup third round on Friday (10 January).

However, Bowen may just have provided the new West Ham boss with some welcome news courtesy of his latest activity.

Jarrod Bowen suggests he is closing in on West Ham return

The winger has been keeping fans updated on what he has been doing while out of action with a number of social media posts, the latest of which is likely to excite Hammers fans.

Taking to his Instagram story on Tuesday (14 January) the West Ham club captain posted a picture of him wearing his boots, suggesting he is stepping up his recovery.

Indeed, that was accompanied by a lightning bolt and praying hands emoji, which may further encourage supporters of the club.

Potter’s new side are currently 14th in the Premier League table seven points clear of the relegation zone ahead of their clash with Fulham later on Tuesday.

Football Insider Verdict

This latest update from Bowen is undoubtedly going to be a big relief for everybody connected with West Ham.

Even while the club have struggled this season, the winger has been a consistent source of quality, making a number of key contributions.

He is therefore going to be someone Potter will surely be looking to for an example on the pitch, particularly in his role as club captain.

The fact therefore that he is already making this sort of progress in his recovery will no doubt provide a major lift around the London Stadium.

In other news, West Ham have been backed to sign in this postion during the January transfer window.
