Jarrod Bowen reacts to heartfelt goodbye message at West Ham – ‘It’s not easy’

Jarrod Bowen reacted to a heartfelt goodbye message on social media after the announcement of a West Ham departure this summer.

The Hammers signed off their disappointing season with a 3-1 win over Ipswich on Sunday (25 May).

Having replaced Julen Lopetegui with Graham Potter, West Ham were not expecting to rocket up the league as the former Chelsea manager was seen as more of a project manager, but there was an expectation that results would improve in the short term.

Instead, the East London club slid further and further down the league, before two wins from their last four games saw them finish 14th.

Those victories, against Europa League winners Tottenham and beaten Europa League finalists Man United, perhaps disguised just how poor West Ham have been under Potter.

But with a busy summer ahead, there will still be hopes that the ex-Brighton boss can turn things around next season.

Danny Ings wishes West Ham fans farewell with announcement on social media

Following their final day victory over the Tractor Boys, Danny Ings took to Instagram to say goodbye to West Ham.

The former Liverpool striker posted an image of himself in the Hammers’ home kit, captioned: “It’s not easy leaving a football club when you have so many close relationships, I just want to say a big thank you to the fans and everyone at West Ham and I wish you all the best for the future.”

The post was liked by skipper Bowen, showing support for his departing teammate.

Jarrod Bowen’s West Ham future remains in doubt

Football Insider Verdict

Bowen continues to be the one positive constant at the London Stadium, but the winger may be forced to consider his future this summer.

Despite being loved by fans of the club, the 28-year-old is now suffering the consequences of West Ham’s poor season.

Thomas Tuchel left Bowen out of his latest England squad, instead favouring Chelsea’s Noni Madueke for the upcoming games against Andorra and Senegal.

The German manager has already shown a preference for selecting players from teams further up the table by leaving out Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite from recent squads.

With the World Cup in North America just a year away, Bowen may be forced to seriously contemplate his future at West Ham and the effect their poor performances could have on his England career.
