Jayden Bogle makes ‘best in the world’ claim in new Leeds message – footage drops

Leeds United’s city-wide Championship promotion and title celebrations have led to a bold claim from Jayden Bogle on social media.

Bogle has been at the heart of Leeds’ record-breaking charge back to the Premier League this season, with six goals and four assists from right-back a huge contribution to the 95-goal and 100-point tallies.

Both the 24-year-old and left-back Junior Firpo – whose future at Elland Road past this season remains uncertain – have acted as additional wingers this term, and played a key role in the division’s best attack.

Daniel Farke‘s side have racked up more goals and best goal difference of any side in England’s top four leagues, as well as the joint-highest number of points, and celebrated their achievements on Monday.

Leeds fans hailed as ‘best in the world’ by Bogle

Leeds City Council’s estimate was that 150,000 fans poured onto the streets for the Whites’ open-top bus parade on 5 May, but it remains to be seen how many tens of thousands that number was short by.

Illan Meslier, Patrick Bamford and Pascal Struijk are the only three members of Marcelo Bielsa’s 2020 squad of title winners still active in the current Leeds side, and Struijk wore both his medals in tribute.

Manor Solomon shared a social media post of Leeds’ players atop one of the three buses which crawled their way through the city centre, and Bogle did likewise amid a sea of yellow, white and blue smoke.

United’s number two posted on his Instagram story (5 May) with a live video of the buses on their way through Leeds, and directly addressed the club’s supporters to say: “The best fans in the world”.

Daniel Farke already has first name on Premier League team-sheet

Although Elland Road currently can’t hold 38,000 fans – let alone the 150,00-plus which turned out in Leeds city centre on Monday – United’s owners 49ers Enterprises have exciting plans in the pipeline.

For Leeds to justify a 53,000-seater stadium, they must establish themselves in the top flight, and that will be easier said than done as Football Insider revealed last month that only six players are seen as Premier League-ready at Elland Road.

Bogle is a shoo-in to start in Farke’s defence after his performances this term, and while doubts linger over the future of his fellow full-back Firpo and many others, the attack-minded wideman has Leeds’ right-hand side locked in next season.
