‘Jhon Duran in car-crash Aston Villa exit’ – Fans erupt at ‘ridiculous’ latest
Aston Villa fans have reacted on social media to the latest updates on Jhon Duran making a possible move to Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr.
Football Insider previously revealed in November that the Colombian international could leave Villa in search of more regular game time, as he currently plays second fiddle to Ollie Watkins.
On 28 January, The Athletic reported that Al Nassr are weighing up whether to finalise a deal for Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface or turn their attention to Duran. While a verbal agreement for Boniface was reportedly in place, negotiations have since stalled.
David Ornstein has also suggested that Villa may be open to selling Duran if they receive an offer in the region of £80 million. With Al Nassr now considering a move, Villa fans have expressed their frustration, with many claiming that a move to Saudi Arabia would be a “waste of his career”.
Aston Villa fans fume over potential Jhon Duran exit
The Colombian striker has had a prolific season at Villa Park, scoring 12 goals in all competitions, including three in the Champions League.
However, despite his impressive goal return, he has struggled for regular starts under Unai Emery, making just four Premier League starts this season.

Villa have been active in the transfer market and are now exploring a move for Joao Felix, with the Chelsea forward reportedly unhappy with his limited game time at Stamford Bridge.
Finance expert Stefan Borson has suggested that a swap deal could be an option, as he believes Villa may struggle to afford the Portuguese star outright. However, fresh reports indicate that Duran’s future may instead lie in Saudi Arabia, with Al Nassr strongly linked to a move.
Chelsea fans have even urged their club to pursue Duran, but with growing speculation about an offer from Al Nassr, Villa supporters have expressed their frustration with the striker.
One fan claimed Duran “will be remembered as the biggest waste of talent in footballing history” if he moves to Saudi Arabia, while another stated: “It would just show he’s not a serious footballer”.
One supporter branded the possibility “ridiculous” to head to the Middle East, while another thinks it will be a “car crash”.
In other news, Aston Villa are set to step up their attempts to sign an AC Milan star.
