Jim White reveals ‘seriously moneyed people’ want Ange Postecoglou sacked by Tottenham
Daniel Levy is under pressure to sack Ange Postecoglou from “moneyed” voices after Jim White’s latest reveal surrounding the Tottenham boss.
Postecoglou has been on the brink of being sacked at Tottenham for months, with supporters growing tired and frustrated of the Australian’s antics on and off the pitch, especially in the Premier League.
He has a chance to bring silverware back to North London, with Spurs just one game away from a Europa League semi-final, but with the same side sitting 15th in the league table, his future looks bleak.
The Lilywhites have won just two of their last nine matches across all competitions, only beating Southampton and AZ Alkmaar, and the decision could be made for Levy against Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday, 17 April.
Jim White was at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the first leg last week, a game which finished 1-1 thanks to Pedro Porro‘s equaliser, but he revealed that some important people are growing impatient.

Ange Postecoglou pressure grows after another Tottenham defeat
Speaking live on talkSPORT (14 April, 12:08pm), White dismissed arguments from ex-Arsenal defender Martin Keown in mitigation for the Australian and said: “I listened to them on Thursday, Martin, I was in a box and some seriously moneyed people are saying, ‘Enough’s enough’.”
With a Europa League quarter-final clash coming up, Martin Keown argued that a decision could not be made right now, and even suggested that Spurs could beat Frankfurt to advance to the semi-finals.
White continued, stating that he hopes the Lilywhites do seal victory in Germany, but also suggested that it is “hard to give any positives” from the team’s Premier League campaign, calling it “unacceptable”.
Europa League title no longer saving grace for Ange Postecoglou
Football Insider verdict
Postecoglou has recently been slammed after a “mole” emerged at Tottenham, with the manager focusing on off-pitch antics instead of getting his team ready for a vital European night under the lights.
The leaking of information at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium should really be the least of his worries, with Spurs winning just one of their last five matches across all competitions.
Tottenham’s last 5 results | Competition |
Fulham 2-0 Spurs | Premier League |
Chelsea 1-0 Spurs | Premier League |
Spurs 3-1 Southampton | Premier League |
Spurs 1-1 Eintracht Frankfurt | Europa League |
Wolves 4-2 Spurs | Premier League |
This is exactly why many are expecting Levy to get rid of the Australian this summer, with the likes of Thomas Frank, Marco Silva and Andoni Iraola all linked with taking over at Tottenham.
It seems like only a matter of time before a change is made, especially with so many supporters choosing to point the finger at Levy now, but it remains to be seen who would want to take over instead.
While there is plenty of potential in terms of the size of the club and ability of the squad, Spurs are so far adrift of the “top-six” teams, leaving anyone with a sizeable challenge on their hands.
