‘Joao Felix to stay at AC Milan’ – Chelsea fans react to development

Chelsea fans have reacted on social media following Joao Felix’s comments about moving to AC Milan after his loan move.

Felix joined AC Milan on a short-term loan from Chelsea in the winter window on a straight loan deal without an option or obligation to buy permanently.

Felix had been linked with Aston Villa as they searched for a replacement for the departing Jhon Duran, but he opted to join the Italian giants instead.

The Portuguese forward has already made an impact in Italy, scoring on his debut. Chelsea teammates Marc Cucurella and Nicolas Jackson reacted to Felix’s post celebrating his brilliant start.

Felix is currently set to return to Chelsea in time for this summer’s Club World Cup, which begins on 15 June, just after his loan expires on 1 June.

However, his recent comments in an interview about his future have sparked debate among fans, with many now urging him to remain at AC Milan after openly expressing his feelings.

Enzo Maresca didn’t give Joao Felix many opportunities

When asked about his future, Felix said: “I’ve joined AC Milan on loan but if there’s a chance to stay beyond this season… I’d be happy.”

Reports suggested that Felix was unhappy at Chelsea, which ultimately led to his January exit. Now, his latest indicates he would be up for making his stay in Milan permanent.

He returned to Stamford Bridge for his second stint last summer in a deal that saw Conor Gallagher move to Atletico Madrid in the opposite direction.

Felix has shown flashes of quality for the Blues this season, scoring seven goals and providing two assists in 20 appearances.

However, with Enzo Maresca’s side boasting a stacked squad of attacking options, he struggled to secure consistent game time in the Premier League, making just three league starts.

Chelsea fans convinced Felix wants to leave Stamford Bridge

Felix’s departure left Maresca’s side one attacker short after the January transfer window, as the Blues opted against signing a replacement.

With him gone, Christopher Nkunku is now expected to feature more regularly, though his latest start ended in a defeat to Brighton.

The forward’s frustration at the club was understandable, given there was no clear plan for his role in the squad. This has led many to question why the club signed him in the first place.

However, fans have now turned on Felix following his comments, with many urging him to stay in Milan if that’s what he wants. One fan said, “He should stay there and not come back” while another added, “It’s inevitable” that he will be sold.
