Joao Pedro sent a message to his new Chelsea teammate Estevao after the pair faced off against each other in the Club World Cup.

And despite the quick turnaround the Brazilian forward came off the bench to appear for the West London side three days after completing his move.

Whilst Pedro failed to score or assist, the 23-year-old showed some nice touches and was impressive overall.

However, the former Watford forward was largely overshadowed by his compatriot Estevao, after the 18-year-old scored a delightful goal against his new club.

Chelsea may have won against Palmeiras, but the Brazilian side made them work for the win and the Premier League outfit will now face off against a Fluminense side led by Blues great Thiago Silva in the CWC semi-final.

And Enzo Maresca’s side will do so without Liam Delap, Moises Caicedo, or Levi Colwill after the trio all picked up their second yellow cards of the tournament.

After Chelsea’ win, Estevao shared a video of his highlights from his last game for Palmeiras before he completes his move to the West London side.

Showing support for his new teammate, Pedro told the winger: “Joga muito”, which roughly translates to “You played well”.

Chelsea have exciting future after Joao Pedro, Estevao additions

Football Insider Verdict

Chelsea fans accused their side of playing boring football last season, leading to Maresca criticising the environment created by the supporters.

But with that issue seemingly put to rest, the Blues’ fans are unlikely to have similar complaints next season, so long as the Italian boss unleashes his exciting attacking talent.

Cole Palmer was seemingly the only Chelsea player capable of creating, or scoring for the West London side last season.

However, with Pedro and Estevao in their ranks, the Blues have not only added players with flair but also the ability to create something out of very little.

The 18-year-old’s goal against Chelsea came after finding space between Marc Cucurella and Colwill, before firing home from an improbable angle.

He may be young, but with Estevao in their ranks, the Blues finally have a player who can reliably take the creative weight off of Palmer’s shoulders, and he will do so in an incredibly exciting way.
