Bellingham reacts to Everton-linked Chris Rigg’s ‘see you’ Sunderland message
Jobe Bellingham has reacted to Chris Rigg’s latest Sunderland message while the 17-year-old is linked with a move to Everton.
Bellingham and Rigg both featured in Tuesday’s Championship playoff semi-final as the Black Cats got the better of Coventry City via a 3-2 aggregate victory.
Coventry held a 1-0 lead on the night, sending the match to extra time courtesy of the Mackems’ 2-1 victory in the first leg.
But Dan Ballard headed home from a corner in the 122nd minute to cause incredible scenes at the Stadium of Light and send Regis Le Bris’ men to Wembley.

While Rigg is still only 17, he has established himself as a key figure in the North East, making 45 appearances in all competitions.
After featuring as a substitute in both of Sunderland’s play-off semi-finals, he will hope to make another outing at Wembley against Sheffield United on 24 May.

Meanwhile, Rigg celebrated the Black Cats’ victory over Coventry via Instagram [14 May] as he wrote: “The type of things you dream of as a boy! Jobs not finished, see you at Wembley.”
Bellingham liked the post and commented: “The boyo.”
Thanks to his impressive Sunderland performances, Rigg has attracted transfer interest from David Moyes’ Everton.
Everton are battling Leeds to sign West Ham’s Vladimir Coufal
After successfully guiding Everton away from the relegation zone, Moyes can now look ahead to the summer transfer window as the Toffees strive to have a positive start to life at Bramley-Moore Dock.
The Merseyside club’s chances of signing Rigg may hinge on whether Sunderland win promotion to the Premier League, but the Blues are also battling Leeds to sign West Ham’s Vladimir Coufal.
Everton have confirmed that their women’s side will play their home games at Goodison Park, but the move will not affect their PSR status.
But Moyes will be intent on a strong summer of recruitment as the Toffees look to build on the momentum Moyes has re-established since returning to the dugout.
Everton are also keen on Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap to bolster their forward line, while the England Under-21 international has shown his worth by regularly scoring for a Tractor Boys side who are set for an immediate Championship return.
