Jobe Bellingham sends strong message to Sunderland fans after Derby
Sunderland midfielder Jobe Bellingham has posted a message on social media to fans after their 1-0 win over Derby.
The 19-year-old assisted the only goal of the game as Sunderland survived Derby (21 January) to move above Burnley into third-place in the Championship.
Bellingham set up Eliezer Mayenda, following a fast breakaway from the Black Cats, as the Spaniard scored his third goal of the season.
The match was a close affair, with neither side showing much offensively. However, it was a much needed win for Sunderland after they missed two penalties in a 0-0 draw with Burnley in their last outing.
Bellingham delighted with away performance as Sunderland push for promotion
Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris will have been delighted with Bellingham’s performance, the England U20 international stole the show, despite not getting on the scoresheet.
The French manager will be hoping to hang on to the talented younger brother of Real Madrid superstar, Jude Bellingham, amidst rumours that some major Premier League sides are watching the former Birmingham youngster.
Posting on Instagram after the match against Derby, Bellingham said: “Another great away day, strong performance & fantastic support again!”

Sunderland will continue their promotion push with their next game being against Plymouth Argyle at home on Saturday (25 January).
The Black Cats are unbeaten at the Stadium of Light in the league this season, and will be hoping to continue that good form in their next game.
Le Bris will be hoping for some more reinforcements in the January transfer window, and Peter O’Rourke has exclusively revealed to Football Insider that the Black Cats are in a race to sign Luis Palma from Celtic.
In other news, an Oxford United star could be on his way to the Stadium of Light.
