Joe Hart responds to Kasper Schmeichel’s message after Celtic development

Celtic icon Joe Hart has taken to social media to respond to Kasper Schmeichel after their 0-0 Champions League draw with Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday (December 10).

The 38-year-old played the full 90 minutes in Croatia, keeping Celtic in the play-off spots, just one point ahead of English champions Manchester City, who sit in 20th.

Schmeichel has been integral to Brendan Rodgers’ plans since taking over from Joe Hart, 37, in the summer, featuring in every minute of Celtic’s season so far (2,160 minutes) across 24 appearances in all competitions, keeping 15 clean sheets and conceding just 17 goals.

Rodgers’ side have two games to secure knock-out Champions League football for the first time in either of the Northern Irish manager’s two spells at the club.

Kasper Schmeichel a worthy successor to Joe Hart’s Celtic legacy

Hart won two Scottish Premier League titles and two Scottish League Cups during his time in Glasgow, making 154 appearances across all competitions.

Celtic appear firmly on course for a fourth consecutive league title, remaining unbeaten after 15 games and sitting nine points clear of second-placed Aberdeen.

Schmeichel took to Instagram after the draw with Dinamo Zagreb, saying: “A decent point for us away from home. Onwards we go – Good to see some old faces.”

To which Hart responded by saying: “Quality again Kasp. Good luck on Sunday.”

Celtic face arch-rivals Rangers in the Scottish League Cup on Sunday (December 15) in the second Old Firm derby of the season.

Rodgers’ side won the first one 3-0 as Rangers fall further behind Celtic both on and off the pitch throughout the season.
