Joe Rodon, Ao Tanaka react to Manor Solomon’s Leeds United ‘the end’ message

Manor Solomon was backed by his Leeds United teammates on social media after Daniel Farke’s side claimed an important victory against Middlesbrough.

The Israeli international’s form has dropped significantly in recent weeks, going eight matches without a goal contribution in the Championship, though that came to an end at the Riverside Stadium.

Dan James opened the scoring after just two minutes, with Solomon supplying the assist on Tuesday, 8 April, and it could have been even better for the Whites in their quest to secure promotion.

Ao Tanaka cruelly, and incorrectly, saw his fifth-ever Leeds goal chalked off for offside, with Patrick Bamford suffering the same fate in the second half following an incredible counter-attack.

Manor Solomon fires back after Leeds United criticism

Taking to Instagram (9 April), Solomon wrote: “Big 3 points! Pushing together until the end,” accompanied by a flexing muscle emoji, ready to show fight in the end-of-season run-in.

He was backed by teammates Joe Rodon and Ao Tanaka, who both liked the post, following the incredibly hard-fought victory at the Riverside Stadium.

Daniel Farke has plenty of the line as Leeds United aim for promotion

Football Insider verdict

Farke risks the wrath of 49ers Enterprises if Leeds are to miss out on promotion to the Premier League this season, especially after Leicester City and Ipswich Town pipped them to the automatic spots last term.

Remaining in the Championship meant losing Archie Gray, Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter, all to Premier League clubs, and the risk is that the same could happen again this summer.

Thankfully, James’ early goal was enough to send the Whites back to the top of the Championship table, with just five matches remaining, and the team should be able to take inspiration from the victory now.

Leeds United’ remaining Championship fixtures
Preston North End (H)
Oxford United (A)
Stoke City (H)
Bristol City (H)
Plymouth Argyle (A)

These five teams stand in Leeds’ way of claiming promotion at the second time of asking, three of which they have already beaten earlier in the season, while drawing against the other two.

Leeds are finally back to winning ways after three consecutive draws, and with this team often bouncing off good form and momentum, that will be key over the coming weeks.
