‘Joe Rodon despises playing with Illan Meslier’ – Leeds fans explode
Illan Meslier has been the target of Leeds United fans’ frustrations after the Whites slipped up dramatically in their race for promotion to the Premier League.
The Whites were defeated 1-0 by Portsmouth at Fratton Park as Colby Bishop’s 61st-minute goal was enough to separate the teams.
It was a frustrating afternoon for the Yorkshire giants with Joel Piroe missing a golden opportunity in the second half as the ball was cut back to him without a goalkeeper in net, only for him to blast his shot over the bar.
Leeds fans also felt that they should have been awarded a penalty in the first half when Matt Richie appeared to foul Dan James, but Rob Jones opted against awarding them the decision.
The result has had a serious impact on Leeds’ attempts to win the Championship as Sheffield United have now caught them and are level on points at the top of the table.
Leeds have the advantage due to goal difference, but they also have the threat of Burnley pushing up the table and sitting just two points behind them.

Illan Meslier has made series of horrific Leeds blunders
Meslier appeared to be stuck in no man’s land for Portsmouth’s goal as he initially ran out to claim the through ball only to then back up and change his mind.
That decision allowed Bishop to take advantage and find the back of the net as Meslier and Joe Rodon argued against each other about who was to blame for the situation.
