Joel Piroe and Mateo Joseph respond to Guilavogui after confirmed Leeds news
Josuha Guilavogui sent a clear message to Leeds United fans after promotion was secured and celebrated at Elland Road.
Leeds are Premier League-bound once again after both Daniel Farke‘s side and Burnley pulled away from Sheffield United in the Championship’s top two position, and excitement at Elland Road is at fever-pitch.
Joel Piroe’s twenty-minute hat-trick and four-goal haul against Stoke City was built on with a pass-of-the-season contender in United’s 4-0 win over Bristol City on Monday, to set up Wilfried Gnonto’s goal.
Gnonto’s strike was Leeds’ second before Largie Ramazani came off the bench to net a brace of his own and cap off a dominant display for Farke’s side, and big plans are also in place for Elland Road itself.

Leeds stars react to ‘grandpa’ Guilavogui as Farke decision looms
Guilavogui’s part in Leeds’ complete demolition of Bristol City was limited to just a four-minute substitute cameo, but it’s clear that the veteran Frenchman’s off-field impact at Elland Road has been significant.
Ex-Leeds keeper Paul Robinson told Football Insider upon his arrival that Guilavogui “wouldn’t play 10 games”, and while he’s not started a league match, the 34-year-old has made 16 appearances in total.
After fervent celebrations at Elland Road had died down, Guilavogui posted on Instagram (30 April) with a message of gratitude to Leeds‘ fans, with just one match to go until his contract expires on 30 June.
Guilavogui said: “28/04/2025 – I will never forget that night. With over 15 years in professional football, I still feel incredibly privileged to have shared such powerful emotions together.
“Now, one final battle remains to write history with this unique club, Leeds – we want the title.”
Strikers Piroe and Mateo Joseph both left messages which reflected Guilavogui’s seniority in the side, as Piroe called the midfielder; “my grandpa”, while the latter said: “Big Brother”, under his Instagram post.
Josuha Guilavogui exit imminent at Leeds United
It’s not the first time that members of Leeds’ squad have expressed their admiration towards Piroe, and just a week since Gnonto and Piroe called for the veteran to extend his stay at Elland Road next season.
Sam Byram and Junior Firpo are in the same boat as Guilavogui, but of the trio, it’s Firpo who seems most likely to earn a contract extension based on his stellar performances in Farke’s all-action attack.
However, after Football Insider revealed on 11 April that Leeds chiefs only see six members of Farke’s squad as “Premier League-ready”, this summer’s transfer window certainly won’t be one for sentiment and tough decisions on the out-of-contract trio will soon be in the post.
