‘Johan Lange’s stance on next Tottenham manager revealed’ after new talks
Tottenham sporting director Johan Lange is pushing for Thomas Frank to be appointed as their next manager, according to their former scout.
Mick Brown, who also worked for the likes of Aston Villa and Man United and remains very well-connected at his former clubs, exclusively told Football Insider that Lange and Frank share a close relationship which has helped discussions.
The Brentford manager has now emerged as the clear front-runner for the role after Ange Postecoglou was dismissed on 6 June, just 16 days after lifting the Europa League.
This comes after Football Insider exclusively revealed on 7 June that Tottenham are closing in on Frank’s appointment and are willing to meet his £10million release clause.
Preliminary talks have already taken place over the deal, and Spurs are confident the Brentford boss is keen to make the move.
After Football Insider revealed on 4 June that Frank is in pole position at Tottenham, they are now growing increasingly convinced by his credentials and experience.

Thomas Frank backed to land Tottenham job
Football Insider first revealed in April that Frank is on Tottenham’s list of targets should Postecoglou lose his job amid constant pressure on his position.
Brown, who worked with Lange during his time at Aston Villa and has a wealth of experience working closely with elite managers including Sir Alex Ferguson, has insisted the Brentford boss is now the most likely contender to land the job.
“Thomas Frank is the leading contender for Tottenham,” he told Football Insider.
“He’s done very well at Brentford and they’ve been impressed by what he’s done there.
“I worked with Johan Lange at Aston Villa, and I know he’s got a good relationship with Frank and they’re good friends.
“He’s pushing for him to be appointed and is keen to work with him at Tottenham.
“So they’ll be taking what he says into account and it will be a boost to his chances.
“That’s always a good start for any manager, having close relationships with some of the staff.
“It helps ease him in and get his ideas across, in this case in the transfer market, because there are some improvements which need to be made.
“So he will have an ally already in a good position at Tottenham and then he can build on that.”

Yves Bissouma transfer update emerges at Spurs
With the search for a new manager ongoing, there is also a focus on improving the squad in the transfer window, with both incomings and outgoings likely.
Former Spurs goalkeeper Paul Robinson told Football Insider on 6 June that Tottenham will accept offers for Yves Bissouma amid interest from Everton.
Following Postecoglou’s dismissal, there is growing uncertainty surrounding the future of a number of players at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Meanwhile, Brown told Football Insider in March that Spurs are prepared to sell Bissouma after holding crunch talks over his future in North London.
