‘John Heitinga plots Liverpool transfer raid after Anfield exit’
John Heitinga is already looking to do transfer business with Liverpool so shortly after his exit from the club.
Last summer, the former Everton defender made the move to Anfield to join his fellow Dutchman Arne Slot‘s coaching staff at the Reds.
It proved to be a productive for all concerned, as the club charged to the Premier League title during the 2024/25 campaign.
Having achieved that success though, Heitinga left Liverpool this summer to return to his old club Ajax as the Dutch giants’ new head coach.
In the wake of his return to his home country, the 41-year-old now seems keen to take advantage of his connections with Anfield in the market.

Viteszlav Jaros eyed for Ajax move
According to a new update from The Times, it is understood that Heitinga is keen to sign goalkeeper Viteszlav Jaros on loan from Liverpool for Ajax last summer.
The 23-year-old initially came through the youth ranks with the Reds, and has made two senior appearances for the club, both of which came this season.
One of those saw him come off the bench to help his side see out a 1-0 win away at Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
Earlier this season, it emerged that Liverpool have handed Jaros a new contract, with his previous deal at Anfield having been due to expire this summer.

Liverpool may be tempted to sanction Ajax transfer
Football Insider Verdict
With Alisson Becker still on the books at Anfield and Giorgi Mamardashvili due to join to replace Caoimhin Kellher after his move to Brentford, Slot is not short on goalkeeping options.
As a result, the Reds ought to be confident about letting Jaros out on loan this summer, and he would benefit from more first-team experience.
Heitinga was evidently a popular figure with the Liverpool squad as well, and so that could work in his favour here as well.
However, there is little point in sanctioning a deal such as this if Jaros is not going to be playing regular senior football that he needs in order to develop and improve.
There may also be questions about whether the 23-year-old can go from being third-choice at Anfield, to playing regularly for a club expected to challenge for trophies and compete in the Champions League.
That ensures there is plenty for Liverpool to weigh up as they consider this potential move for Jaros over the summer.
