John Lundstram expected to sign Rangers contract – sources
John Lundstram is expected to sign a new deal at Rangers, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the midfielder remains in contract negotiations with the club and he is very likely to extend his time at Ibrox.
It is believed that there is major interest in Lundstram, 30, with Football Insider revealing (17 April) that English clubs are expected to submit contract offers to the former Sheffield United man.
However, such offers are now expected to be rejected by Lundstram in favour of an extended Ibrox agreement.
John Lundstram now likely to stay at Rangers this summer
His Gers deal will expire at the end of the season and, as revealed by Football Insider last month (11 March), talks with the club had stalled.
It is believed that manager Philippe Clement is pushing hard for Lundstram to pen a new deal and he has frequently declared his eagerness for the defensive midfielder to stay to the press.
Keeping Lundstram will be a “huge” boost for Clement, sources say, and his plans for next season at Rangers.
The Englishman has been a standout for the Gers this season and a mainstay having made 49 appearances in all competitions.
He has bagged two goals and seven assists for Rangers this term and has made 149 total appearances since his move in the summer of 2021 – more outings than with any of his former sides.

Rangers sit three points behind league leaders Celtic and most recently advanced to the final of the Scottish Cup after their 2-0 win against Hearts on Sunday (21 April).
They return to league action on Sunday afternoon (28 April) with their away clash against St Mirren.
In other news, Fulham, Sheffield United and Southampton plot raids to sign Ibrox star.
