John Stones bids farewell as Man City exit news confirmed

Man City centre-back John Stones was quick to react after Kyle Walker shared an emotional farewell message following his exit from the club.

Walker spent eight years at City, lifting an incredible 17 trophies during his time in Manchester, including six Premier League titles and the Champions League in 2023.

But his time at the Etihad has now come to an end after Walker completed a move to Burnley, where he reunites with former teammate Scott Parker.

The defender has endured a difficult 12 months, making just 15 appearances for City last season before heading out on loan to AC Milan for the second half of the campaign.

Milan opted not to activate the option to make the move permanent for Walker, leaving him to explore other opportunities as his time with City drew to a close.

Now, with his next chapter confirmed, the former club captain has shared a heartfelt message with the supporters.

With Walker officially out the door, City have already identified a long-term replacement, with Newcastle’s Tino Livramento on their radar.

However, Football Insider report that Newcastle are determined to keep hold of Livramento beyond the summer, despite the growing interest.

It’s understood Guardiola sees the young full-back as the ideal successor to Walker, but Eddie Howe is equally determined not to lose any key players, especially after guiding the Magpies back into the Champions League.
