John Stones reacts to Omar Marmoush announcement at Man City
Omar Marmoush is the subject of a new announcement emerging from Man City, catching the attention of teammate John Stones.
The Egyptian has been an incredible addition to Pep Guardiola‘s squad since arriving during the winter transfer window, notching eight goals and one assist in 22 appearances.
He also recorded 37 goals and 19 assists in 67 appearances during his time with Eintracht Frankfurt, so it is no surprise to see his talents transfer almost instantly to the Premier League.
While Kevin De Bruyne’s emotional exit from Man City is set to hit hard, signing the 26-year-old should make a good impact for the 2025/26 campaign, but there are expected to be more signings.
Rayan Cherki is the latest transfer link to emerge at Man City, Football Insider understands, and the Frenchman may already like what he sees from one of the biggest talents at the Etihad Stadium.
Omar Marmoush wins Premier League goal award at Man City
Taking to Instagram (31 May), the official club account: “We can confirm that Omar Marmoush‘s rocket against Bournemouth has been voted the Premier League’s Goal of the Season for 2024/25.”
While he has not been available on the pitch, Stones showed support for his teammate by liking the post.
Pep Guardiola to expect even more from Egyptian star next season
Football Insider verdict
Despite a brilliant first impression at the Etihad Stadium, Guardiola will still want more from the 26-year-old during his second season in England, especially after an expected summer exodus.
Mateo Kovacic, Bernardo Silva, and Ederson have all been linked with Man City exits, Stones too, and Jack Grealish’s expected departure could leave the Citizens light on attacking options.
Phil Foden has struggled for form this season, leaving Guardiola with quite the headache as clubs prepare for the summer transfer window to swing open.

Cherki would certainly be an exciting addition, and a cheap one at that, with the 21-year-old set to depart Ligue 1 for a very cheap price, and bringing 32 goal contributions with him.
It has been his best season by far, but given Lyon’s current financial situation, it is extremely likely that the young talent will be forced to find a new home ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
Marmoush, alongside the likes of Cherki and Erling Haaland, should thrive even more in the Premier League next season, hopefully producing more special moments like his goal against Bournemouth.
