John Stones shares three-word message after Man City fans destroy him

Man City defender John Stones shared a message on social media after the defender suffered an injury during the international break.

Stones had started all three games under Pep Guardiola this season, earning himself a place in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad

However, his involvement with the national team was cut short as Stones suffered an injury whilst on international break during training, and was sent back to City due to a minor muscle strain.

Whether or not the defender recovers in time for City’s clash against Man United on 14 September remains to be seen, but the supporters weren’t pleased after hearing of the injury.

Man City fans called for Stones to be sold following news of another setback for the defender after suffering another season marred by recurring injuries.

Despite the setback, the 31-year-old remained upbeat and addressed fans following England’s latest win.

Harry Kane netted his 74th goal for England while Noni Madueke, Ezri Konsa, Marc Guehi and Marcus Rashford also scored to seal a comfortable win.

Meanwhile, Stones had been linked with a Man City exit throughout the transfer window following another injury-disrupted season.

The latest setback with England is just another blow to his fitness, with the defender having a hamstring injury and two different foot injuries last term.

Man City join race to sign Marc Guehi

With the constant injury worries in defence, the club are set to target a new defender as Football Insider revealed Man City are preparing to beat Liverpool to the signing of Marc Guehi.

Liverpool’s deal for the centre-back fell through in the final moments of the window as Oliver Glasner threatened to resign if he lost his captain. But now, Palace face the realistic possibility of losing him for free in the summer.

With the defender having less than 12 months left on his deal, City are keen to battle Liverpool for his signature.
