John Stones to ‘cherish every moment’ as Man City exit confirmed

John Stones has sent a heartfelt message to Kevin De Bruyne in the wake of his announcement that he will be leaving Man City at the end of the season.

The Belgian international told the footballing world on Friday (4 April), that he would be leaving Manchester City at the end of the season, following 413 appearances across 10 years at the club.

Speculation had been growing throughout the course of this campaign that De Bruyne may leave Man City with various links being reported.

However, this has now been put to bed with De Bruyne able to play a maximum of 13 more games in Manchester, including the Club World Cup being held in June.

Stones calls De Bruyne an artist on the pitch

In a post via Instagram on Friday night (4 April), Stones said in response to the news: “An absolute artist like no other and a legend forever on the pitch!

“Off the pitch, an even better person and friend. Will cherish every moment I’ve had with you brother.”

​De Bruyne and Stones have played together at Manchester City for eight and a half seasons, experiencing all the high’s and low’s of top flight football.

Despite the news likely to be taken with an element of sadness by the supporters, the positive is that they now have time to make De Bruyne’s send off with the club special.
