John Stones told to ‘get out’ of Man City after what he did in win vs Brentford

Man City fans were furious with defender John Stones after his role in Brentford’s opening goal in their game on Saturday.

The 30-year-old centre-back was unable to clear Keane Lewis-Potter’s header, instead slicing it directly into the path of Yaone Wissa.

With Man City goalkeeper Ederson on the floor, Wissa had a free header and was able to nod Brentford into the lead in the first minute.

Thankfully for Stones, Erling Haaland was there to spare his blushes, scoring both goals in City’s 2-1 win at the Etihad.

The big Norwegian now has nine goals in just four appearances as Pep Guardiola’s side look destined to win their fifth Premier League title in a row.

The game against Brentford was Stones’ first start of the season with his only other appearance this season coming as a substitute in their 4-1 win over newly promoted Ipswich Town.

The England international may be able to put his mistake down to rustiness but Man City fans still flocked to social media to express their frustrations.
