'Great player + great man' – John Terry delivers unexpected message to Arsenal midfielder
By Danny Wright
Chelsea’s John Terry has delivered an unexpected message to Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere, who’s currently on loan at Bournemouth.
The experienced centre-back put aside rivalries between the two London giants and told the 25-year-old that he wishes that he could play in the same team as him.
Wilshere played all 90 minutes for the Cherries as they lost 3-1 at home against Chelsea on Saturday.
The two players met each other after the game and Terry signed his own shirt to give to the Arsenal midfielder.
Terry’s reaction will come as a big surprise to fans of Wilshere’s parent club, who aren’t used to getting messages like this from their London rivals.

“To Jack. Great player + great man,” wrote Terry, in an image on Wilshere’s Instagram Story.
“Wish I had the chance to play with you week in week out. Good luck.”
Wilshere was sent to Bournemouth last summer in a bid to earn more first-team football.
The 34-time England international has played some part in all but three league games since his move to the south coast – and two of these were against Arsenal when he was ineligible.
He’s made 26 appearances in total and has provided two assists.
It might not have been the glittering season he was looking for but he has proved his fitness over a prolonged period of time.
In other Arsenal news, this 28-year-old has hit back at his critics and has a message for Arsene Wenger.
