John Textor will be ‘stunned’ by what he sees at Everton – Kieran Maguire

Crystal Palace investor John Textor will be “stunned” by the club accounts at Everton if he proceeds with a takeover bid.

That is the view of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who exclusively told Football Insider that a takeover deal will still be attractive to Textor due to the club’s heritage and new stadium.

The takeover deal between Everton and 777 Partners has now expired after the US group failed to meet conditions laid out by the Premier League by the end of May.

Farhad Moshiri is now free to explore alternative options and Palace investor Textor has emerged as a potential bidder for the club.

As previously revealed by Maguire, Textor must sell his Palace stake before completing a deal but he is still free to open talks now.

Everton accounts will stun new bidder Textor

Once Textor has sold his Palace shares, he will be free to review the accounts at Goodison Park, although Maguire believes he will be “stunned” by what he sees.

There will be plenty of opportunities for John Textor to sell up at Crystal Palace,” Maguire told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.

Once that is complete, he can go ahead and take a look at the books at Everton.

I suspect when he does that it could be a bit like a Scooby Doo episode – he will be stunned by what he sees.

Everton

But Everton is a club with huge history and heritage and is in the city of Liverpool, which, as we know, is one of the senior football cities in the country.

So you can see the attractiveness of that combined with their brand new stadium.
