Rangers striker Kenny Miller’s long-time agent Dave Baldwin has blasted the Ibrox club over their handling of the striker in the wake of accusations he was leaking information to the media.

Miller was banished to the club’s Under-20 squad after he reportedly passed details from a team meeting after the 2-0 Old Firm defeat to Celtic.

The 37-year-old has missed the Scottish Premiership fixtures with Hamilton and St. Johnstone and it’s unclear if he’ll be involved in this weekend’s Scottish League Cup semi-final with Motherwell.

Representative Baldwin savaged Rangers over the way they dealt with the issue, insisting Miller was one of the “best professionals” an calling the club’s reaction “embarrassing.”

“The ‘inferral’ that this guy above is anything other than one of the best ‘professionals’ of the last 20 years is a joke,” Baldwin said in a post on his personal Instagram account accompanied by an image of Miller.

“If Rangers have a ‘leak,’ ‘rat’ or a ‘traitor’ in the ranks then they should say who it is and deal with it rather than leave one man hung out to dry!

“To make those accusations and then leave Kenny out of the squad and not say a word is embarrassing…and then do it again!

“Looks pretty obvious to me where the leaks come from.”

Miller has had three spells with the Ibrox club but now looks like his time with the Gers is coming to an end.

The 37-year-old hasn’t enjoyed a great start to the season on or off the pitch and many Rangers fans would argue the team has improved as a result of Miller not being involved.

Manager Pedro Caxinha claimed Miller missed the win over St. Johnstone after picking up a slight injury during training before Friday’s win.

In other Rangers transfer news, a £7.5million midfielder is firmly in the running to be the club’s next signing.
