Jordan Henderson reacts to Dango Ouattara’s ‘incredible’ Brentford message

Brentford club-record signing Dango Ouattara shared a message to supporters after scoring the winning goal against Aston Villa.

Keith Andrews’ side bounced back from their opening-day defeat to Nottingham Forest as Brentford beat Aston Villa in a 1-0 victory in their first home game of the season.

Ouattara, who became Brentford’s most expensive signing struck the only goal of the game after being played through on goal, as he reacted quickly to tap in the rebound to his first strike and seal all three points.

Brentford signed Ouattara on a club-record fee in the region of £42.5 million and was brought in to fill the void left by Bryan Mbeumo following his move to Manchester United. He has wasted no time in making an impact for his new club.

After finding the net on his first start at the Gtech Community Stadium, the winger posted a heartfelt message to the supporters to mark the occasion.

Former and current teammates react to Dango Ouattara’s message after Brentford win

Ouattara shared a message with his new fans after marking his Brentford debut in style and the winger posted on Instagram with several pictures from his first game, alongside a caption that read:

“AL HAMDOULILLAH. What a pleasure to make my debut in our stadium and to score to help the team take the three points.

“The perfect way to start this new chapter. Thank you all for the warm welcome and incredible support. We’ll keep working to do even more!”

His display drew plenty of reactions from both current and former teammates. Fellow new signing Jordan Henderson, Bournemouth’s Justin Kluivert, and Dean Huijsen — who moved to Real Madrid earlier in the window — were among those to show their support with likes on the post.

Ouattara’s departure continued the exodus from Bournemouth’s Vitality Stadium this summer, with Huijsen, Illia Zabarnyi and Milos Kerkez also moving on.

The Burkina Faso international played more of a rotational role last season, contributing nine goals and four assists, but now steps into a central role at Brentford as the direct replacement for Mbeumo.

Brentford eye Coventry defender Bobby Thomas amid Nathan Collins exit talk

With Mbeumo already gone, Brentford could face another key departure as Nathan Collins continues to be linked with a move away. The club are understood to be drawing up contingency plans in case he does leave.

Football Insider revealed that Brentford are considering Coventry City centre-back Bobby Thomas as a potential replacement.

Thomas, 24, was a standout performer for Coventry last season, helping them reach the Championship play-offs, and is viewed as a possible option to step in should Collins exit in the final few days of the window.
