Jorge Mendes could help Man United sign ‘unstoppable’ star likened to Bukayo Saka

The January transfer window is on the horizon, and Manchester United could see several of their players leave Old Trafford.

Joshua Zirkzee has been linked with a move to Roma, potentially returning to Italy after scoring just seven goals in 54 appearances for the Red Devils.

Everton and West Ham have also shown an interest in Zirkzee, seeing the 24-year-old as a potential option to fix their respective goalscoring troubles.

Kobbie Mainoo could also leave Man United on loan in January, with Ruben Amorim preferring Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes in a deeper midfield role.

But whilst exits for Mainoo and Zirkzee look increasingly likely, Amorim could sign a player who once shared a dressing room with Jadon Sancho at Borussia Dortmund.

Man United have enquired about Karim Adeyemi

Manchester United have been long-term admirers of Dortmund speedster Karim Adeyemi, someone who has also attracted interest from the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham.

The 23-year-old is currently encountering problems on and off the pitch in Germany, though, and during Dortmund’s 1-1 draw with Hamburg over the weekend, a frustrated Kovac could be seen visibly agitated by Adeyemi’s decision-making.

Despite failing to score since September, BILD have reported that discussions over his future are in full swing. Adeyemi’s contract expires in June 2027, and his entourage are demanding a long-term extension with a release clause valued at £70million.

Meanwhile, according to Florian Plettenberg, United have inquired about the German international after obtaining information from super agent Jorge Mendes.

Mendes, who has facilitated United’s moves for Leny Yoro and Manuel Ugarte, seemingly holds the key to a switch from Dortmund to Manchester for the attacker.

Adeyemi has three goals and three assists in all competitions this term, but is someone who could add another dimension to Amorim’s attack.

Adeyemi compared to Bukayo Saka

United enjoyed a transformative summer transfer window, and marquee additions Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo have hit the ground running at Old Trafford.

Mbeumo has been impressive since joining Man United, and so has Cunha, with the attacking duo turning Amorim’s men into one of the league’s most feared attacks.

Adding Adeyemi to the equation could make the Red Devils even more threatening in transition, as he’s famed for his electrifying pace and immense dribbling.

Adeyemi has been described as ‘unstoppable’ by Como scout Ben Mattison, offering more than just speed on the pitch.

As highlighted by FBref, the Dortmund star is statistically comparable to Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka, ranking in the top 11 per cent of wingers across Europe for successful take-ons and the top 18 per cent for non-penalty goals per 90.

Man United fans can therefore get excited if one of their attacking targets makes a switch to Old Trafford, as he’s primed to destroy Premier League defences.
