Jorge Mendes now has the power to broker Manchester City agreement after deal reached
Jorge Mendes could now have a decisive say over the future of the Manchester City team in the coming years.
The Portuguese has built a reputation as one of the world’s most powerful football agents, and he already represents the likes of Bernardo Silva, Ruben Dias and Matheus Nunes.
Manchester City are hot on the heels of Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table, as Pep Guardiola bids to add yet another league title to his impressive CV.
The Citizens will be hoping to secure another three points in their home clash against West Ham on Saturday, after a week that has delivered question marks at the top of the club.

Jorge Mendes holds the power amid Enzo Maresca news at Man City
Guardiola’s long-term future at Manchester City has been called into question in recent weeks, amid recent suggestions that he could leave the club at the end of the season.
The Spanish chief is out of contract in 2027, and that could spark his exit next summer, when that deal will have just one year left to run.
Enzo Maresca has emerged as a surprise candidate to potentially take the reins from Guardiola at the Etihad, and Mendes looks set to have a huge say in how that situation plays out.
The 59-year-old agreed a deal with the Chelsea boss to become his agent a few months ago, according to Sky Sports’ Kaveh Solhekol, who feels that Maresca will be a likely candidate to take over if the City job ever becomes available.

Mendes is understood to have a “very close relationship” with City’s sporting director Hugo Viana, and that could give him a crucial edge in ensuring that his client gets the job if Guardiola were to depart.
Enzo Maresca is a better option at the Etihad than Vincent Kompany
Former Manchester City financial advisor Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider in November that Vincent Kompany is another likely candidate to replace Guardiola if he does decide to leave.
However, while the Belgian was a fantastic servant to the club during his playing career, Maresca is surely a far safer option for the Citizens to hand the reins to next.
The Italian has already enjoyed success managing in the Premier League, whereas Kompany’s only campaign in a Premier League dugout ended in relegation with Burnley.
He has done an admirable job in his latest role at Bayern Munich, but success with the German giants isn’t always an effective barometer of a manager’s ability, given the dominance that they enjoy.
Kompany is hugely likely to end up taking the Manchester City job at some stage in his managerial career, but if Guardiola were to leave next summer, then a slightly more experienced boss would surely be on the agenda.
