Jorgen Strand Larsen to Crystal Palace odds slashed as bid is submitted

Jorgen Strand Larsen has been linked away from Wolves multiple times this winter transfer window as the Old Gold side edges closer to relegation.

The Norway international has failed to hit the same heights this season compared to the last campaign, with the striker only hitting the net once in the Premier League to date.

Nevertheless, interest is high, with Leeds United recently having a bid turned down for Strand Larsen.

Now, Crystal Palace have upped their pursuit, with Jean-Philippe Mateta edging closer to a departure from Selhurst Park.

Crystal Palace now just 5/4 to sign Jorgen Strand Larsen

A recent report from The Athletic on 26 January has confirmed that Mateta is close to a Palace departure.

The striker is closing in on a move to Nottingham Forest, with the Reds offering £35million for the France international.

While Palace want £40m, personal terms between Mateta and Forest are not thought to be an issue.

As a result, the London side are looking at their options, with Strand Larsen being considered.

Now, according to the bookies, Palace are the joint favourites alongside Leeds United to sign the Wolves star at just 5/4.

Oddchecker on 26 January have confirmed that Palace’s odds of making the signing have been slashed.

Other candidates for his signature include Nottingham Forest, who are 7/1 and Tottenham, who are 9/1 to win the race.

However, it remains to be seen if Wolves will be willing to let the striker go this winter window.

What has Rob Edwards said about Strand Larsen’s future at Wolves?

For Wolves, many players in their squad have been linked away in recent weeks.

A £7m bid has recently been rejected for David Moller Wolfe, with Roma eyeing the full-back.

Breakthrough star Mateus Mane has also been linked away from Molineux after a wonderful turn of form over the past month.

Therefore, many of the Molineux faithful will be keen to keep hold of some players, as they look to avoid Derby’s record low points record.

When asked about Strand Larsen’s future at Wolves after Leeds’ bid last week, Rob Edwards confirmed to the Express and Star that the striker is still training with the squad.

He said on 23 January: “The bid came back last week or early this week. He’s been great, he’s trained really well.

“He’ll be part of the squad tomorrow, he trained well today, so there has been no change.

“He’s trained really, really well, and really that’s all I’m looking at at the moment.

“I’m seeing a player with a focus and a really good attitude.”
