‘Jose Mourinho tipped for Celtic with Sean Dyche in at Rangers’
Celtic would “really appeal” to Jose Mourinho if Brendan Rodgers moves to Tottenham this summer despite links to the Rangers job, according to Ally McCoist.
Former Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou looks unlikely to remain at Tottenham this summer, having suffered a dismal second season in North London.
Amid growing frustrations at Parkhead, Rodgers could be heading for a Celtic exit Mick Brown revealed to Football Insider exclusively.
The Hoops have failed to adequately back the ex-Liverpool boss in the transfer market and he could look to join Tottenham this summer in a repeat of Postecoglou’s Parkhead exit two summers ago.
Meanwhile, Rangers are in need of a new permanent manager this summer and have been linked with the “box-office” Fenerbahce manager Mourinho themselves.

Jose Mourinho could spurn Rangers interest in favour of Celtic job
Speaking on talkSPORT, ex-Ibrox star McCoist revealed he thinks the Celtic job would “really appeal” to Mourinho.
When asked by host Alan Brazil for his thoughts on Rodgers joining Tottenham and Mourinho replacing him at Parkhead, McCoist responded (23 April, 9.38am): “Do you know what, I think that kind of job really appeals to him.
“Because he’s backing them up, he’s right in the forefront of football, Europe every year.”
Brazil then asked about the possibility of Sean Dyche being the man to take over at Rangers this summer in place of caretaker Barry Ferguson, to which McCoist responds: “I’d take him right now, I’d take Sean all day.
“Sean Dyche is an excellent manager. Excellent manager.”
Celtic could make move to bring Ange Postecoglou back this summer
Football Insider Verdict
Postecoglou only joined Spurs in 2023, but his time in North London looks to be coming to an end.
With his side sitting 16th in the Premier League, having lost over half their games this season, Tottenham’s strong showing in Europe is unlikely to be enough for him to remain with the club.
They say you should never go back, but with Rodgers picking up from where he left off from his previous spell with Celtic, why not the same for Postecoglou?
Having won the domestic treble with the Hoops and being named as a candidate for FIFA World Coach of the Year, some of his happiest days in management were spent in Scotland.
Managing in the Premier League, more importantly managing under Daniel Levy, has clearly taken its toll on the 59-year-old and going back to his old stomping ground may appeal immensely to the Postecoglou, especially Rodgers has sufficiently rehabilitated his reputation back in Glasgow after his Leicester tenure fizzled out.
