Jose Mourinho ‘very interested’ in being next West Ham manager – Insider
Jose Mourinho is keeping a close eye on Julen Lopetegui’s situation at West Ham, according to the club’s former scout.
Mick Brown, who left the London Stadium in June alongside David Moyes and remains very well-connected there, exclusively told Football Insider that Mourinho would be “very interested” in the job should it become available.
It is said he still has a house in London and would welcome the opportunity to return to the English capital, where he spent seven years across spells with Chelsea and Tottenham.
The boss has made no secret of his desire to manage in the Premier League again after his recent comments regarding his time at Fenerbahce.
However, he went on to explain that the board would be unlikely to appoint the Portuguese boss because “he wouldn’t put up with what the others have put up with”.
This comes after Football Insider revealed that the Hammers are unlikely to consider Mourinho as a possible replacement if they decide to part ways with Lopetegui.

Anger towards the manager from the stands has been growing at the London Stadium, while Football Insider revealed the Hammers are now weighing up a “Plan B”.
Meanwhile, Brown, who has worked closely with managers at the top level including the likes of Ron Atkinson and Sir Alex Ferguson, insisted that they would have no issues convincing Mourinho to join should they decide he is the man they want.
“From what I’ve heard, he’d be very interested,” he told Football Insider.
“He’s still got a house in London, so that would make things a bit easier for him.
“If the opportunity arises for him to go back to a London club, I’m told he’d jump at it.
“We all know he wants to return to England anyway, so I don’t think it would be an issue persuading him to make the move back from Turkey.
“Obviously it depends on what they decide to do with Lopetegui and who they then decide to bring in.
“But I think it’s one he would be keeping an eye on because there’s a lot of uncertainty, and it could present an opening for him to make that return.

“But I think the board would be frightened to death of Jose Mourinho, because he wouldn’t put up with what everybody else has had to put up with.“
