Josh Windass highlights two 'outstanding' players in Rangers win v Motherwell

By Danny Wright

Josh Windass has hailed Graham Dorrans and Wes Foderingham as “outstanding” after Rangers opened their Scottish Premiership campaign with a win at Motherwell.

Former West Brom and Norwich midfielder Dorrans scored in each half as he netted a brace on his Light Blues debut.

Windass, 23, was also in top form for Pedro Caixinha’s side and was unlucky to have not bagged a goal for himself in the first-half when he struck the woodwork after an amazing solo run.

News outlet HITC has reported that the attacking midfielder has been attracting from English Championship sides QPR and Brentford, but it now appears that he may be going nowhere as he has emerged as one of Caixinha’s most important midfielders.

Although it was a good win against Motherwell, Windass has remained loyal to the fact that there is still a lot of work to be done by his side.

“Great start. Lots to improve. Left my legs in the dressing room at half time. Dorrans and Wesley outstanding,” he said on his personal Twitter account on Sunday.

Windass had come under fire from large sections of the Rangers support for his perceived underperformances last season as he earned 27 appearances across all competitions, scoring one goal and supplying five assists in the process.

Injuries hampered his start to life in Glasgow after he was signed by Mark Warburton from Accrington Stanley alongside Matt Crooks, but the Hull-born playmaker now looks as though he is a new signing for the Gers.

In other Rangers news, former Celtic striker Chris Sutton believes that the jury is still out on this Ibrox new boy.
