Joshua Zirkzee responds to Jadon Sancho message after Chelsea development

Man United striker Joshua Zirkzee was caught ‘liking’ Jadon Sancho’s recent social media post after Chelsea’s 4-3 Premier League win over Tottenham on Sunday (December 8).

Sancho, 24, scored Chelsea’s first goal, and his second in as many games, with a hard and low long-range effort after the home side took a two-goal lead in the first 11 minutes.

Talismanic playmaker Cole Palmer leveled the score early in the second half, converting a penalty after Spurs midfielder Yves Bissouma fouled Moises Caicedo.

Acting captain Enzo Fernandez then gave Enzo Maresca’s side the lead with a stunning half-volley following some intricate play by Palmer. Palmer later bagged his brace with a cheeky Panenka penalty.

Spurs captain Heung-Min Son got one back for Ange Postecoglu’s side, but it turned out to be nothing more than a consolation as they fell into the bottom half of the Premier League table.

The on-loan former Man United winger has found some form after making the move to Chelsea, starting seven of his 11 appearances across all competitions, scoring two goals, and providing five assists in 589 minutes of action.

Zirkzee, 23, had a less successful weekend, coming on for the last 14 minutes in Man United’s 3-2 defeat to Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford on Saturday (December 7).

The Dutch striker has struggled since joining Man United in the summer, starting 13 of his 21 appearances across all competitions, scoring just three goals, and providing two assists in 856 minutes of action.

Sancho took to Instagram to celebrate his goal and Chelsea’s impressive come-back win over Tottenham, which Zirkzee promptly liked.

Both Chelsea and Man United have European games in midweek, with Maresca’s side traveling to Kazakhstan to face FC Astana in the Europa Conference League on Thursday (December 12)

Ruben Amorim’s side face Viktoria Plzen on Thursday as they seek to stop the rot after two consecutive defeats.
