Jota 'would love' to sign for Celtic after £6.3m update from Portugal - pundit
Filipe Jota “would love” to make his move to Celtic permanent in the January transfer window.
That is the view of former Arsenal and Everton striker Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Celtic’s desire to tie up a deal for the 22-year-old in the new year.
Jota has been a revelation in the Scottish Premiership since moving to Parkhead on a season-long loan from Benfica.
The winger’s performances have earned him October’s player of the month award.
According to Portuguese journalist Pedro Almeida last Saturday, the Hoops “will advance” with the permanent signing of Jota for a fee of approximately £6.3million.
When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of Jota’s future, Campbell said: “I’m sure he’d love to make it permanent.

“The fact that the fan base has really took to him will influence his view.
“He is playing exceptionally well at the moment. He is being lauded for his performances. Why would he not want to make the move? I can’t see any reasons why.
“From Celtic’s point of view, they will want to sign Jota permanently before somebody else does.”
Speaking on his future, Jota said: “I never think in the future, I think in the present. I wake up every day thinking: ‘Ok, today I want to be better at this, this and this.’
“That’s what I’m looking for, I’m not thinking about what’s going to happen next week, next month or next year . Just let me enjoy my football and be happy.”
