Jude Bellingham and Reece James react to Ben Chilwell Chelsea announcement
Ben Chilwell posted on social media following his move to Crystal Palace from Chelsea, sparking reactions from his former England teammates.
Chilwell has officially completed a move to Crystal Palace for the rest of the season on a straight loan, with no option or obligation for a permanent deal.
The left-back took to Instagram to share a statement following his transfer, despite initial opposition from Crystal Palace fans about Chilwell’s move.
Jude Bellingham reacted in the comments with “Good luck bro” while former teammate Trevoh Chalobah also wrote “All the best bro.”
Chelsea players, including Reece James and Nicolas Jackson, showed their appreciation by liking his post.
Crystal Palace loanee backed after Chelsea exit
The former Leicester City man endured a difficult season at the Blues, falling down the pecking order with Marc Cucurella being preferred at left-back.
He made just one appearance for the side this season, leaving Chelsea fans frustrated with how Enzo Maresca handled Chilwell’s situation. His injury concerns also hampered any momentum he tried to build in recent seasons, and they may be a key reason why Maresca didn’t trust him.

With Renato Veiga also leaving for Juventus, Cucurella remains the only first-team left-back in the squad, which could have opened a spot for Chilwell. Despite this, he still opted to move away on loan.
Football Insider Verdict
Chelsea players have consistently shown support for their former teammates, even after they leave the club. This was evident recently when Cucurella sent a farewell message to Veiga.
It’s no surprise that more former teammates are offering encouragement to the 28-year-old as he looks to resurrect his career in South London.
Crystal Palace offer fresh start after Enzo Maresca decision
For Oliver Glasner’s sdie, Chilwell’s arrival provides much-needed depth and competition at left-back, with Tyrick Mitchell being the only available option in that position.
Football Insider revealed on 28 January that Palace were planning a loan move to strengthen their left-back spot, with Chilwell identified as the key target to add quality and depth to the squad.
Although he has remained relatively fit this year, a return to the form that once made him a standout performer could give him the opportunity to revitalise his career.
