Jude Bellingham facing brutal England snub amid Cole Palmer, Elliot Anderson verdict

After Elliot Anderson’s sensational performances against Serbia and Andorra during the international break, one star may be set to miss out.

Anderson put in a player of the match against Andorra, controlling the midfield in an otherwise turgid England performance.

Thomas Tuchel opted for Anderson once again against Serbia and while the Nottingham Forest midfielder didn’t steal the headlines, he forced himself further into Tuchel’s plans.

Tuchel now faces a dilemma in midfield with two of Anderson, Eberechi Eze, Jude Bellingham, and Morgan Rogers set to miss out on the German’s starting 11.

Jude Bellingham set to miss out on World Cup starting place

Anderson looks set to be Tuchel’s choice in the number six position heading into next summer’s World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United State of America.

One name that may be due to miss out is Bellingham. That’s according to talkSPORT’s Hugh Woozencroft, who said: “I pick Cole Palmer as England’s number 10, I think last night even Morgan Rogers showed us that that number 10 role has a sense of discipline around it.

“For all of the qualities Jude Bellingham has shown, that isn’t one of them, he can do everything, and he tries to do everything, and no one is yet to put the discipline into his game as say ‘if you want to play in the number 10 role actually what we need you to do is conduct the attack.'”

“He can do everything, and that’s why I’d say I think in the last half an hour of games he could be our guy that impacts games really seriously late on,” he added.

Thomas Tuchel has a midfield problem

Tuchel now has at least two players who can play at every position in the midfield of his 4-2-3-1 shape.

Elliot Anderson and Adam Wharton are both capable as players who can protect the ball in the double pivot and move England up the pitch with ease.

Declan Rice has nailed down his position as a box-to-box eight who will crash the box late on and score timely goals like against Andorra.

Meanwhile Eze, Bellingham, Palmer, and Rogers will all feel that the number 10 position is their best position.

While they all affect the game in different ways Tuchel will have to find a way to balance the game time for all his stars.

Palmer, Rogers and Eze can all shift wide but their games are less effective out there, and perhaps Tuchel will have to bite the bullet in that area to squeeze Bellingham into his line up.
