It is believed that the former Wolves boss is eager to return to the Premier League and wants a job at a top-10 English side.

Lopetegui rejected an offer to replace Roy Hodgson at Crystal Palace but would make a return to management if the Irons offered him the job.

Could Julen Lopetegui replace David Moyes at West Ham United?

The 57-year-old left Wolves just before the start of the current campaign and was replaced by Gary O’Neil, whose 2-1 win against Tottenham on Saturday (17 February) moved them to 11th in the table.

As revealed by Football Insider (18 February), West Ham have been drawing up contingency plans in case they are forced to sack Moyes and have a list of potential candidates.

The Scotsman, who has failed to win a single game in all competitions this year, has been under major pressure amid the Hammers’ poor form.

Scrutiny mounted even more after the club’s 2-0 defeat against Nottingham Forest on Saturday (17 February), with a vast amount of the fanbase demanding that he gets sacked immediately.

Lopetegui, who had spells at Porto, Real Madrid and Sevilla before joining Wolves, is also reportedly on AC Milan’s list to replace Stefano Pioli.
