Juninho Bacuna: Hannover make move to hijack Birmingham deal
Hannover have made a move to hijack Birmingham City star Juninho Bacuna’s move to Saudi Arabia, sources have told Football Insider.
An agreement is in place with Saudi Arabian club Al-Wehda for Bacuna to join them before the transfer window shuts.
However, Hannover are also pushing hard for a late-window deal to bring the versatile midfielder to Germany.
The 27-year-old joined Birmingham in January 2022 and has been a regular in the starting lineup since then.
Bacuna has made 111 appearances for Birmingham, scoring 13 goals and providing 15 assists.
Bacuna is out of contract at St Andrew’s next summer, and the League One outfit are aiming to cash in on him in this window.
Hannover wants Juninho Bacuna to enhance their midfield options
Bacuna would provide versatility to Hannover’s midfield, given that he can play in various positions.
The midfielder has consistently played at a high level throughout his career, including in the Premier League and the Eredivisie.
Hannover are looking for an experienced midfielder who can be placed straight into the starting lineup.

Birmingham might be set to lose Bacuna in this transfer window, but the club are looking to strengthen their squad too.
In other news, Swansea City star Liam Cullen lined up by Championship clubs.
