Junior Firpo sends message to Jayden Bogle after Leeds United told to ‘get rid’
Jayden Bogle received a two-word message from exit-linked Junior Firpo after Leeds United lifted the Championship title at Home Park.
The goal-hungry left-back was unavailable for the final day of the Championship season, with Sam Byram taking his place in the starting lineup, and his absence was certainly felt for much of the game.
Plymouth Argyle took an unexpected lead on Saturday, 3 May, as Mustapha Bundu’s effort rebounded off the foot of the post, onto Byram, and into the back of his own net.
With Burnley overturning a one-goal deficit against Burnley, it looked as though the Clarets were set to lift the title at Turf Moor, but Willy Gnonto offered hope with an equaliser eight minutes into the second half.
Following an endless stream of chances, Manor Solomon became the hero for Leeds as he steered home an incredible winner in the first minute of added time, cueing the celebrations in the away end.

Taking to Instagram stories (3 May), Firpo reshared an image of him with Bogle, captioned: “My RB [right-back],” with the latter smoking a cigar in the changing rooms after full-time.

Daniel Farke needs summer additions for Premier League survival
Football Insider verdict
Despite notching an outrageous number of goal contributions from full-back, ex-Whites keeper Paul Robinson has told Football Insider that Firpo is one of the players Leeds must get rid of, suggesting he is not Premier League quality.
The Dominican Republic international has struggled in the top tier of English football before, and with the player out of contract at the end of the season, there have been no signs of an extension being signed.
Player | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Junior Firpo | 35 | 4 | 10 |
He will not be the only player concerned, though, with Illan Meslier, Pascal Struijk, Brenden Aaronson, and even Patrick Bamford tipped to depart Leeds once the summer transfer window opens.
It could take quite a bit of business to create a squad capable of avoiding relegation, and 49ers Enterprises must back Farke with transfers if that is their ambition.
Several of the current players are unlikely to have much success in the top flight of English football, having been proven during the 2022/23 campaign, and Farke will not want to repeat his previous times in the Premier League.
