Jurgen Klopp could be sacked by Liverpool after source’s reveal – ‘he will be gone,’ says pundit
Frank McAvennie has suggested Jurgen Klopp will be sacked by Liverpool next season if there is no big improvement in performances.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker said Klopp knows that the pressure is on him ahead of next season.
The Merseysiders are set for a big spending spree this summer as they look to improve on a poor season that is likely to end without Champions League football for next year’s campaign.
On 24 April, Football Insider revealed that the Reds have made new arrivals in central midfield and centre-back their priority for the summer window and are preparing for high-profile exits.
Klopp is said to have green-lit the signing of a new centre-back in the upcoming window amid defensive concerns that have come to light throughout the season.
This site also revealed (26 April) that the Anfield club have sent scouts to watch Benfica centre-half Antonio Silva as they eye up a potential deal this summer.
When asked if a new centre-back is a top priority for the Reds, McAvennie told Football Insider: “I think so.
“I think they do need it. It has not worked this season.
“You need to put [Virgil] Van Dijk in beside a top quality centre-half, somebody at the same level as him.
“They have got to sort the midfield out as well.

“They have brought in players that are not ready yet.
“Klopp will have another chance at it next year and if he does not do well he will be gone but he knows that.”
