Jurgen Klopp is poised to be ‘the Leeds United manager’

Jurgen Klopp has been heavily tipped to take over from Carlo Ancelotti as the next Real Madrid manager but is considered unlikely to take the job.

Since leaving Liverpool last season, the German has repeatedly been mentioned in conversations about Los Blancos’ future, despite his role at Red Bull.

As part of his agreement with the energy drink brand’s football arm, he would be allowed to become the Germany international manager should the opportunity arise.

Outside of that, he is unlikely to step back into club management in the near future, with Xabi Alonso more likely to take over from Ancelotti at Real Madrid.

Former Leeds goalkeeper Paul Robinson, speaking to Football Insider, joked that Klopp’s next step into management is more likely to be at Elland Road.

Jurgen Klopp to Real Madrid update emerges in Red Bull twist

Former Liverpool boss Klopp was appointed the Global Head of Soccer at Red Bull, who own a minority ownership stake of around 10% in Leeds, last year.

The energy drink brand owns RB Leipzig, Red Bull Salzburg, New York Red Bulls and Red Bull Bragantino – all of whom will seemingly see some involvement from Klopp.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Robinson explained that it is unlikely Klopp will take another job in club management any time soon and will instead continue to work behind the scenes with Red Bull.

Carlo Ancelotti is going to go after next week,” he told Football Insider.

“They’ve got the Copa del Rey final next week, and reports are saying he’s going to go after that.

“Jurgen Klopp’s got a clause in his Red Bull contract which allows him to become the Germany manager, but that’s it, anything else would carry a big fee with it.

“So Liverpool fans, you don’t have to worry about Jurgen Klopp yet.

“He’s still going to be advertising Red Bull, or potentially managing Leeds.”
