Jurgen Klopp will be ‘chewing Luis Diaz’s ear off’ after Liverpool footage emerges – pundit
Kevin Phillips has urged Liverpool winger Luis Diaz to continue his goalscoring form when he returns from international duty.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the 2000 European Golden Shoe winner claimed the “incredible” 25-year-old must provide more end product for the Reds.
As shown by GOLPERU (25 March), Diaz scored a sublime solo goal for Colombia against Bolivia.
The winger has quickly endeared himself to the Anfield faithful since joining from FC Porto in a £49million deal in January.
Across all competitions, he has two goals in 12 appearances to his name.
When asked for his assessment of Diaz’s numbers for Liverpool, Phillips told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs:
“When you are at that level, in the position you play in, you have to chip in with a fair amount of goals. Look at Jota, he has more than chipped in. He hit the ground running and has scored last week. He finds the net regularly.
“We have seen some incredible performances from Diaz but he needs to start finishing off those good runs with end product.

“I’m sure Klopp is chewing his ear off about it. He will not be putting him under too much pressure but there will be reminders.
“When you talk about top-class players, they need everything. It is a part of his game that he needs to improve on but I’m sure it will come. He did it for FC Porto and he does it for his national side so he has it in his locker.”
