Justin Kluivert reacts as loan exit confirmed at Bournemouth

Justin Kluivert has reacted to a Bournemouth exit announcement as the Cherries continue to let players leave despite few new signings this summer.

Bournemouth enjoyed a stellar 2024/25 campaign under Andoni Iraola, as they finished in ninth place and reached the FA Cup quarter-finals.

The Basque boss has built a strong squad in his short time on the south-coast, but the Cherries look to be in danger of losing numerous important players this summer after their impressive displays last term.

Highly-rated centre-back Dean Huijsen has already left the club to join Real Madrid, while Milos Kerkez has been linked with a move to Liverpool and Illia Zabarnyi is reportedly on PSG’s radar.

Bournemouth fans will hope that they are able to keep hold of their key men, but another Cherries exit has now also been announced as the club prepare for a major exodus this summer.

Daniel Jebbison makes Bournemouth exit

Canadian international striker Jebbison joined Bournemouth last summer from Sheffield United, and despite initially going out on loan to Watford, he did end up playing for the Cherries after being recalled in January amid Iraola’s injury woes.

He scored once in 16 Premier League appearances, and did not do enough to be included in the club’s plans for next season, with his season-long loan exit to Preston North End confirmed on Saturday (21 June) by Bournemouth with a post on Instagram that read: “We can confirm that Daniel Jebbison has joined [Preston North End] on a season-long loan. All the best, [Daniel Jebbison].”

Jebbison’s Cherries teammate Kluivert reacted to the post with a like, after Football Insider recently revealed that the Dutchman is interested in joining Bayer Leverkusen this summer, while Preston confirmed that the 21-year-old’s move will officially take place on 7 July after his Gold Cup exploits with Canada [Preston North End].

Bournemouth face tricky season ahead if numerous key men leave

Football Insider verdict

Bournemouth supporters will not be disheartened by the departure of Jebbison, especially considering it is a loan deal, given his lack of impact on the team and general status as player of lesser importance at the club right now.

They will, however, rue the potential exits of a number of Iraola’s main men this summer, with Huijsen already gone and Kerkez looking set to depart soon.

Antoine Semenyo is another Cherries talent who could leave soon amid interest from Tottenham, but the club’s £70million valuation of his services has put Spurs off a deal for now, with Man United also mooted to look to sign him this summer.

On top of all that, Iraola could find himself out of a job if things do not go Bournemouth’s way next season, according to Football Insider’s Mick Brown, which would be a shock considering their decent showing in the last campaign.

Bournemouth certainly need to act fast to either get players tied down to new contracts or sell them on for a healthy fee to then reinvest back into the squad and add to Adrien Truffert, or they could struggle in the Premier League in 2025/26.
