Justin Kluivert reacts to Man United’s Joshua Zirkzee after Bournemouth exit update

Justin Kluivert has been linked with a move away from Bournemouth over the past week, and amid the rumours he has reacted to Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee.

Kluivert is coming off the back of an incredibly prolific season for the Cherries, scoring 12 goals and picking up six assists in his 34 Premier League appearances.

Around January time, it looked as if Andoni Iraola’s side would be competing for a Champions League place, after a superb run of form over Christmas.

However, their momentum stalled slightly as the campaign drew to a close, but despite that, Bournemouth still secured their record Premier League points total of 56 as they finished ninth.

Kluivert has been linked with Bayer Leverkusen in recent days, with new manager Erik Ten Hag reportedly a big fan of the Dutch international.

Leverkusen are set to lose Florian Wirtz to Liverpool in the coming weeks, and the Bournemouth midfielder could come in as his replacement.

With the rumours swirling, Kluivert reacted to Netherlands teammate Zirkzee on Instagram, liking a post of the Man United man enjoying the off-season in Barbados.

Zirkzee himself could be on the move this summer, with Inter Milan thought to be interested in the striker, who has failed to get going at Old Trafford.

Bournemouth set for difficult summer

Football Insider Verdict

During the transfer window, Bournemouth have already lost Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid, just a year after they signed the Spanish defender.

There are likely to be more departures this summer, as Milos Kerkez is linked with a move to Liverpool, after the full-back started every single game for the Cherries this season.

The south coast side spent around £15m on the Hungarian back in 2023, and would likely get three times that figure from Arne Slot’s side.

However, the outgoings might not stop there, with Illia Zabarnyi linked heavily with PSG, and Antoine Semenyo rumoured to have caught the eye of Tottenham.

Luckily, Bournemouth have an excellent recruitment team so they likely have an adequate replacement for whoever they sell, but the number of key players they look to be losing is alarming.
