Justin Kluivert responds to Alex Scott amid Bournemouth exit whispers

Bournemouth face a battle to keep hold of star attacker Justin Kluivert this summer and with the rumours of a move away swirling the Dutchman has responded to teammate Alex Scott.

Former Manchester United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown has claimed that Kluivert is interested in joining Bayer Leverkusen, amid a mass exodus on the south coast.

The 26-year-old was the top scorer in the Premier League last season for Andoni Iraola’s side, finding the net 12 times as well as picking up six assists.

However, the midfielder has reportedly become concerned at the number of exits at the Vitality Stadium, and could be set to move on himself.

Kluivert congratulates Scott after tournament win

Kluivert’s Bournemouth teammate Scott has been away with England at the Under-21 European Championships in Slovakia during the off-season.

The 21-year-old wore a protective mask during the tournament after he was struck by Tyrone Mings’ elbow in a game against Aston Villa last month.

Under the guidance of Lee Carsley, the midfielder and his teammates beat Germany 3-2 in the final to lift the trophy.

After the success, Scott took to Instagram to share some photos from the win, with the caption: “WHAT A TEAM. Champions of Europe!”

Kluivert commented “flaire” under the post to show appreciation for his Cherries teammate.

Bournemouth the best place for Kluivert to thrive

Football Insider Verdict

Kluivert is understandably concerned at the state of the Bournemouth team, with a number of key players having already departed the south coast.

Dean Huijsen had his £50million release clause triggered by Real Madrid, leaving the Cherries after just a single season at the Vitality Stadium.

Milos Kerkez is also no longer a Bournemouth player, after he completed his switch to Liverpool, ending months of speculation.

However, Kluivert may be wise to remain under the guidance of Andoni Iraola, a manager who has so far helped him play his very best football.

The Netherlands international had underwhelming spells at the likes of Roma, Leipzig, and Nice earlier in his career, and would risk returning to his pre-Bournemouth form if he decided to leave the south coast this summer.
