Kalvin Phillips reacts to Pascal Struijk’s exciting new Leeds message

Pascal Struijk has said Leeds United’s job is not yet done despite their return to the Premier League being confirmed.

Leeds hammered Stoke City 6-0 on Monday to put themselves back on the precipice of the top-flight, and their place was sealed when Burnley beat Sheffield United to join them eight points clear at the top.

Daniel Farke’s side have now won their last four games in a row and conceded just one goal, and with two games left to play this season, could yet break the 100-point barrier as the Championship summit.

Burnley remain level on points with the Whites, who lead the way thanks to their superior goal difference of +60 to the Clarets’ +46, therefore Leeds still have a fight on their hands to seal the title itself.

Pascal Struijk rallies Leeds fans as promotion confirmed

Struijk won’t be seen on the Elland Road pitch again this season after an ankle injury picked up against Luton on 5 April, but he was front and centre of the celebrations as promoted was secured elsewhere.

Football Insider revealed on 11 April that Leeds see six of their current squad as ready to make the step up to Premier League level, but Struijk not being one of that group could see his place put under threat.

Struijk, however, is clearly keen to etch his name in United’s history and took to Instagram (21 April) to display their promotion celebrations, sporting the number five shirt worn by Leeds legend Lucas Radebe.

In a post liked by ex-Leeds players Archie Gray and Kalvin Phillips, both of whom are linked with returns to Elland Road, Struijk said: “Back where we belong! But we’re not done yet… Marching On Together.”

Leeds United to launch Kalvin Phillips transfer plan

Although Football Insider revealed last week (14 April) that the chances of a Leeds return for Gray are a long shot at best, Farke and 49ers Enterprises will be more confident that they can bring back Phillips.

Former Man United and Blackburn scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Phillips will be a Leeds player again and is desperate to reunite with his boyhood club, three years after his exit to Man City.

Football Insider have also been told that Leeds will target Premier League-proven and experienced players in the transfer market this summer, and with Phillips keen to come back, he certainly fits the bill.
