Kane could sign new Tottenham contract and ‘stay for rest of his career’ after ‘big’ Sky reveal – pundit
Harry Kane could put pen to paper on a new Tottenham contract after being impressed by the impact of Antonio Conte.
That is the view of former Premier League striker Kevin Phillips, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 28-year-old’s recent comments about his manager.
Speaking to Sky Sports (22 January), Kane claimed Spurs have “a big opportunity” to achieve success with “one of the best managers in the world” at their club.
The England captain’s future was the subject of great speculation during the summer amid interest from Manchester City.
However, a move failed to materialise for Kane, who has two-and-a-half years remaining on his contract in north London.
When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of Kane’s comments, Phillips said: “Kane is working with Conte day in, day out.
“He obviously has unbelievable qualities. For Harry to come out and say that is a big statement.

“If he was to leave at the end of the season, the question straight away would be, ‘Why are you leaving a club with the best manager in the world?’ You’d think he’d back him to turn things around.
“Maybe it’s a sign that Harry Kane is going to be staying. He may sign a new deal and stay at Tottenham for the rest of his career. It would not surprise me if that happens now that Conte is in charge.”
