Pundit points the finger at Kane after latest Tottenham leak

Danny Mills has pointed the finger at Harry Kane after unrest in the Tottenham dressing room was revealed.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Man City and England defender insisted the Spurs squad cannot question Nuno Espirito Santo’s methods and must be “professional”.

A Tottenham source told Football Insider (October 12) senior players have been left “unimpressed” and “unhappy” with Nuno’s methods and communication.

It is understood there is a real prospect of a dressing room mutiny.

But Mills has insisted the Tottenham hierarchy cannot let the players “dictate who the manager is and what the manager does”.

He told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “They started off fantastically well and we thought ‘Oh brilliant, a bit of a surprise’.

“They’ve now had some bad results and of course you’re going to hear mutterings, that may well come from players who aren’t in the team and don’t feel they’re getting an opportunity.

“You then have to look at performances. Son has still performed, he’s been fabulous. Harry Kane is well off where he needs to be. Is that down to the manager or Harry Kane?

“Are these performances solely down to the manager? If they don’t like the way he does things, it’s tough. You’re a professional and have to understand different managers have different ways of doing things.

“They moaned about Jose, Ryan Mason came in and made no difference. Players cannot dictate who the manager is and what the manager does.”

After starting the season with three 1-0 wins, Spurs lost their next three and conceded nine goals in the process.

A 1-0 win over Aston Villa just before the international break means they sit in eighth going into this weekend’s game with Newcastle United.
