Kane: PL legend helped solve my Tottenham goal drought

Harry Kane has revealed that Alan Shearer gave him advice after he only scored one goal in 13 league games during the 2015/16 season.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, the striker shared that he a spoken with the Premier League legend a few times and revealed how he helped him improve.

“The first time I met him I was going through a bit of a dry spell in terms of goals in the Premier League and he just told me to keep believing in myself and the chances and goals would come,” said Kane.

Kane scored a hat-trick against Bournemouth to end his goal drought and that season he went on to win the golden boot having scored 25 goals.

The Spurs striker then continued to compliment Shearer, labeling him an inspirational figure and a great striker because he scored all different types of goals.

Kane was asked about Shearer due to the striker being within three goals of breaking one of his records.

Shearer scored 36 goals for Blackburn Rovers in 1995, which is the most anyone has scored in a single calendar year in the Premier League.

Kane has scored 33 league goals in 2017 and has three more league games in order to beat the record.

The striker faces a tough task scoring in his next game as Tottenham play league leaders Manchester City on Saturday.

The other games Kane could break the record in are against high-flying Burnley and Southampton.
